Fixing shallow hard loamy clay soil

If your soil is sandy, distribute kg sulphur over 9 square metres and turn it in. On heavy soils use 1 kg sulphur. Then mix 225 grams manganese sulphate, 120 grams iron sulphate and 22 grams borax.

Mix these materials thoroughly with a few shovels full of soil, for better distribution, and apply and turn in to each 9 square metres of soil.
Adjust quantities, if necessary, to suit area to be treated, but maintain same ratio of materials. Applications of peat moss and leaf mould will also help.
