Medicinal Tea - Catnip

Catnip has been used as a medicinal tea for stomach upsets and colds since time immemorial. It is often combined with some other herbs such as lemon balm and or lemon grass.Catnip is a perennial that grows very well in dry and sandy conditions, however it can be grown in nearly any kind of soil or light conditions.

Another added bonus of catnip is that it is a natural pest repellant, both in the garden and also in dried form. To take advantage of the pest repellant properties, dry the leaves and then place them in cloth pouches and tuck the puches under baseboards or closets. Medicinal Tea is made from dry or fresh leaves, combined with lemon balm, comfrey or chamomile.
