Medicinal Tea - Chamomile

Chamomile is perhaps the queen of medicinal tea herbs

Chamomile is a beautiful annual (although there is one variety of chamomile that is a perennial plant) that grows to roughly 2 feet high. Chamomile prefers partial shade, and likes sandy, dry soil. The medicinal tea that is made from chamomile is made from the flowers not the leaves.

Harvest your plant regularly once the plants begin to flower. Dry your flowers by cutting the stems back to new leaf growth and then tying them in loose bunches.

Hang them upside down in a dark, dry place until the leaves are crumbly. Another method is to lay the flower heads on drying screens in the oven or hang them in the sun. As a herbal tea, chamomile cant be beat for relaxation. In this case don't drink and drive!
