Peat moss and plants that like lime

Dolomite is a natural limestone rock containing roughly equal parts of magnesium carbonate and calcium carbonate. The breakdown can alter according to the quality of the material.

Although it is said to correct acidity in soils, some people claim that its properties do not work in that direction.

As calcium and magnesium are essential to the well being of plants, dolomite is most valuable for correcting deficiencies of those minerals in soils. Rates of application vary from .5 to .75 kg to the square metre.
