I purchased a Wollemi pine in April 2006 and I'm attaching photos of the same.
More info can be found on the following site:

    Nice Pics Darrel,
There is a thriving theft of the Wollemi Pine here on the Gold Coast.
Yours looks so healthy . I remember my Hoop Pine being used as a Xmas tree.
When it was in a pot and it was 4ft tall.
It is now over 35 ft tall. So your's just needs TLC and time.To wonder, is to begin to understand.

    Your wollemi looks great Darrell.
I've still got mine in a pot as we have extremely cold winters in the tablelands and I'm not sure how much frost they can take.

Has anyone got one planted out in a cold climate?

The wollemipine website says they've been tested to minus five in Australia and down to minus 12 in Japan.

Our winter nights can go down to minus 15 degrees and are often minus
    8-10 degrees.

That looks great Darrel. Nice to see some new growth happening too.

We are keeping ours in a pot too, Abbi, as they grow WAY too big for our yard.Morwell, Victoria

I was never in to Devil worship, and I never believed that The Beatles' songs had dark messages when played backwards, but your 8th photo, Darrel?

A protected site would be best abbi, they were found in a steep
sided valley and well protected from temp and climatic extremes.

It is said that they (Wollemia nobilis) have survived seventeen ice ages, and I read about them not being phased by -12 in Japan.
We had a Big Freeze at our farm a few months back (see post “Not Happy Jack”) -9, it knocked everything for a six, Dino my wollemi pine("Yes, it has a name!") came through with some yellowing of the leaves (see pic).
At South Park in Brisbane they have one out in full sun (in a big steel cage) and it seems to be doing OK.
Last year when I planted my pine out I put shade cloth around it, but I think I will put it out in full sun this summer.
    Regards,
    Darrel:face-smile:

It does look rather Satanic, now you come to mention it.:face-devil-grin:
It's a pity it’s wax cap, it would have been great for scaring young children, and furry little animals.
    Don’t get me wrong, I love kids, but I can’t eat a whole one.:face-devil-grin:

Darrel, I have two who are small and very sweet but a bit old, and one who's almost reached maturity but maybe a bit rough because it has a deep voice. The baby one I might keep here in case I get peckish.

Probably neglect, though the ones I bought were of the smallest size - perhaps you bought the larger pot version?
