This was taken two weeks after the frosty nights .
Not sure of the dates .
But I know it was a Wednesday & Thursday .
Because I cried all Saturday When I saw the Damage it had Done .
I think Ed posted his Pics that week end .
Can any one remember the dates of the frost
    ?

I have some real bad frosts here, plus the drought means no water. By the time they get the flower spike coming the frosts start again. My cannas are now about 6" high, lost a lot last summer and the frost was the final straw for most.:face-crying:Nanango QLD

I used to really hate cannas years ago. The only ones I'd seen were the common red-flowering ones, with lots of dry brown floppy leaves amongst the boring plain green ones.
But then I noticed the Tropicannas and I really like them. Although, the Tropicannas in Ginger's photo look a lot lighter than the ones I usually see, which have rich dark multi-coloured leaves.Coming at ya from Sunny Kalbarri, WA.

Maybe they are like these ones in my garden, Sian. Ginger you can have some of these if you like?:face-wink: The first 2 are small as they are in half shade. They were in full sun a year ago:face-plain: The 3rd one is another Tropicanna

Nice. I used to have a bright red one with very green leaves. Seems to have disappeared but may return in the weed patch. The dark leafed one with orange flowers is the other one here. Will the m,ulti coloured leaf one grow down here????

It sure will Liz. I gave my mother and sister some to take home to Canberra, and they are growing fine. If it grows in Canberra it will grow where you are:face-smile:Ed Tropical Collector

Do these cannas tend to spread to the same extent as the cannas of old? Thanks.

Not as agressive but still spread .
But at $18 for a 6" pot at Bunnings .
Gives you some scope to make some money at week end markets .
Not many other Plants can do that ?

Ask Darrel what he thinks of his Tropicanna .:face-wink:Life is for living ! Don't sleep through it .
