    Hi All,
I have just moved into a house where the small front yard has been very neglected.
I.E. there was ivy growing over it rather than grass.
I have pulled up all the Ivy which was growing on the (lawn).
I spoke to the landlord who has told me i can "Go Nuts" with the garden
So I want to get some kind of lawn established.

Am I best off putting down Grass seed or Grab some runners and lay them down?

    thanks for any advice.

Winter is approaching rapidly. Runners will sit there all season and be very sad
and probably not establish very well at all.

Grass seed is full of nasty weeds like sedges like mullimbimby couch and I would,
after some bad experiences, never recommend anyone to use turf seed.

Save your turf planting efforts until the warm weather returns and focus on
the rest of the garden which will return your efforts faster now.

you can try planting grass seeds but i usually go and dig up some grass clumps and plant them in my lawn and it works very well (a note to biologist, do you live in the antarctic)
