It is located on several acres of semi-woodland with an eclectic blend of bulbs , Vitis amurensis - shrubs , Bidens aurea and herbaceous perennials. , Paeonia veitchii We are in hardiness zone 5b.Bill has been growing , Lepidium hyssopifolium Rhododendrons and Azaleas from seed , Reseda luteola for the last several years. His aim is to produce more beautiful and hardier plants , Sambucus microbotrys for our region. There are over 5000 seedlings ranging in age from a few months to over 15 years. Some of the fruits , Viola cucullata of this labour , Galium gracile of love are included in the Rhododendron growing , Cucurbita ficifolia section. A great many plants , Arctostaphylos nevadensis in our garden , Sorghum halepense have been grown from seed. , Arctostaphylos nevadensis That seedy interest has led to seed , Fraxinus velutina collecting and sharing each year. We have also been involved in the ARHS Seed , Cornus amomum Exchange for a number of years - and have included an online , Artemisia lactiflora version of that exchange. The garden , Panax trifolius changes as the seasons , Azorella lycopodioides unfold - as do the activities of The Gardeners . A Small Tulsa Garden A tour of a small, urban garden , Epilobium coloratum focusing on perennials , Abies religiosa and small water , Cucubalus baccifer features.
Mine is a new garden , Prunus humilis at an older home. , Senecio pierottii My house , Nertera ciliata was built in 1924 which is old for Tulsa I moved to this house , Iris macrosiphon in the summer , Epilobium coloratum of 1997 - spent the first year and a half remodeling the interior , Asclepias erosa and began work on the garden , Senecio pierottii in the spring , Ambrosia artemesiifolia of 1999. I had an almost bare canvas to work with-which can be both a plus and minus. Very little had to be removed and yet there was so much that needed to be added. My garden , Soil Type is very much a work in progress. Since I do all the work myself - time - budget and energy , Valeriana capitata limit what I can accomplish. Like most gardeners - my great ideas don t always work out as planned and sometimes have to be redone. But a little failure can be good for the soul and - frequently - leads you in the right direction....
